I'll start. Vertex AW on SK Fiber TT75R shaft. Cleveland Launcher HB 5W on UST 55 Gold R shaft.

I guess my weakness at "clubmaking" is that I am definitely NOT a fitter. Don't have any tools like
a launch monitor, etc. to use to take advantage of the science and technology that is out there. So I can only "fit"
myself by trial and error. I should have learned by now that once I find clubs that really "work" for me,
I should hang on to them....

I'm lucky in that regard. My office is 1 mile from the local PGA Tour Superstore. $99 buys an annual pass to use their launch monitors for 30 minutes per day. Makes for a perfect lunchtime self-clubfitting opportunity. However, now the store is pickup only, and there is a high probability that my office will be closed and we will all work from home which is too far for frequent PGATSS access.

fatshot That's why I started using a fitter again. It's fun to fit yourself, but it can be expensive. Even for just a driver I know what loft works for me, what club length, weight, et al, but there are so many shafts and not enough profile info. I go to the fitter and I can try a bunch of shafts and see what the #'s are. And if he doesn't get the fit quite right the first time, he fixes it. If I ever retire and have more free time then maybe I will go back to fitting myself. I do miss the "hunt".

fatshot I have the tools and knowledge to build good component irons that fit me pretty darn well. But woods and hybrids, I have been finding that OEM stuff is too good, and the shaft universe is too darn big and expensive, to be doing much in the way of self fitting and building with components. So for woods I'm in the camp of buy it, try it. Always pre owned clubs, though. When I have gone to professional fittings, the results have not held up, unfortunately.

Agree 100%.....I put a lot of reading and research into the Ping driver, and decided to try the Alta shaft. Unbelievable difference compared to traditionally weighted shafts. All of my fairways are Orlimars, my hybrids are Adams....and
you're right....they're too good NOT to use!

Yes Jeff S. has said he is not updating it but lots of shafts are the same. So, I keep using it.

On drivers and hybrids of major brands being superior to minor brands. I don't buy into that. If you buy stuff you are always gonna like it during the honeymoon period then it goes to sit in the corner as one looks for the next holy grail. As an example my week in week out gamer is a early 2000's 400cc GolfSmith Hi-COR Plus 11.5 deg. 44" SK Fiber Pure Energy R. I have not found anything that can kick it out for accuracy with distance. There are longer but not accurate. Hybrids Alpha XV's are as good as anything out there with Alpha Platinum shafts again accurate and good distance. YMMV.

Personally, I'm not a ho. I do the buy it try it form of "fitting", but if it's good then it's buy it try it keep it.
I played a Nike Dymo Str8 Fit driver for several years.

Then Titleist 915D2 last year or so.

Now TM M4. I don't see it going anywhere any time soon. It could end up like the Nike, in the bag for a few years.
The adjustability of the OEM drivers just can't be beat, for me. I definitely get ball flight changes from my adjustments.

Hybrids same deal, Adams 2015 something or other for the past 3 years. No plans to change. I bought spares in order to try a heavier shaft this summer, without letting the poon out of the gamers.

The 5 wood spot is still in play. When I can find the shaft I like, it will be my Cleveland Launcher HB.

Yep probably the best wood shaft for geezer golfers. Too bad SK Fiber went away. When I was younger I liked the Lite Rev I also. Swing Science 200 Series is also good. Alpha Platinum also.

PureFit CB1020 irons, 7-SW. Got the heads today from Dan(Eguller). Already had almost new pulls w/new Lamkins to go in them, so it didn't take long. TT XP95 S300 shafts. For now, they'll serve as basement décor, until next week. I do like the looks of the heads, even though they are a bit longer heel-toe than I normally would have.

Can't get the last pic to stand up. Must be wrong swingweights, dammit.

I saw those when you posted. I played DGS 300's for years in my younger days but they got too stiff as I got older. I would have thought that they would be a bit too stiff for you now.

Rickochet These are the XP95 shafts. They seem softer & are much lighter, than DG shafts, which I never liked at all; thought they were the worst shafts made.
