Tracfone anyone?

Picked one up on QVC. $119.99 for the phone (LG) and get 1350 minutes of talk and text along with 1.35 gig of data. Activation is for one year and I can buy extra minutes and get 3 times the amount. So, for $79.99 I'd get an additional 1350 minutes of talk, text and 1.35 gig data. They're not allowed to say which network they use, but the host said it rhymes with Horizon.

What I may do though is after a year just buy a new phone from QVC. I get the same deal, but for a few dollars more get an upgrade phone. Who knows. Verizon has a decent deal now which they did not have last year when my wife got hers. Try it for a year and go from there.

Great deal for someone like myself who still has a landline, but wants a smartphone with all of it's advantages. This is my first cell / smartphone so I'm no longer one of the 9% who does not own one. My brother in law texted me "welcome to the 1990's".

Had one back in the mid 90's, but not sure it was called a cell phone back then. Mostly used it in the car. More of a car phone.

My wife and I both have Tracfones, they manufacture 2 different modes of phones, one uses Verizon and the other uses ATT, don't remember the codes for each. I bought the cheapo phones at around $40 each, we too get triple minutes and have both phones on auto refill every 3 mos.. Nice part is minutes don't expire , they carryover forever, only the time the is in use expires. I almost never use my phone, so it's a good deal for timea $7/ month.

My wife signed a two year contract with Verizon ~ 10 months ago for ~ $60.00 a month. At the time they offered no deal for a second phone (for me). Now they don't require a contract and I could get a phone for ~ $6.00 a month (24 months) plus $40.00 a month for the service. After her contract expires it would be $20.00 a month.

Mu Tracfone phone is a nice little LG 4G LTE which I guess is Verizons new network technology. So, It seems like the best deal out there if it's not your primary phone.

Old school here - flip phone @ $120 year.
My wife has a Samsung "smart phone" @ $35 month.

We have been using Trac phone for 10 years+.

Funny how they can't advertise what network they use. I would think if they could more people would switch.

I switched to Tracfone last year, had ATT gophone before that. Tracfone is way better. I've got the Samsung Galaxy Stardust. I got one for my wife and for my mom too, I like it so much. I paid $80 for mine and $50 each for the other ones. If I am on normal usage I don't even use up a 60 min ($20) card every three months, since it is tripled. I figure $7 a month for a smartphone plan is pretty good.

I doubt I'll use the 1350 minutes of talk in 12 months. Seems like a no brainer for someone who uses a cell phone for emergency / secondary phone type usages.

I have never been concerned about networks these days.
Both our phones have worked up and down the East coast and there has never been either a connection problem nor a roaming charge.

I pay $100.00 for 6 months service - $20 @ month.
Service up in 12 / 05.
900 min. / 15 hours left and they carry over.

I think (the cheapskate in me does anyway) that it's the least cost -
If wrong, my wallet is listening. 😕

I wasn't sure I could carry my remaining minutes (out of 1350) over. I was under the impression that after my one year is up (Sept 9th, 2017) I would need to reactivate and buy my triple the minutes deal again. Either way it's a good deal IMO. I doubt I'll use 100 minutes a month. May not get anywhere near that.

If you add time before your minutes expire they should carry over.

My wife has one, great deal. I get a free flip phone from work so that's what I use. I'm not big on talking on the phone.
