Simply the best drummer ever
Aw man, that's a bummer. Time to put on some Rush music.
What an incredible talent. Nobody could play in multiple time signatures like that guy. He was unreal. R.I.P.
Major bummed. Greatest drummer. What a lyricist.
Can't tell you how many times my high school buddies and I drove around listening to Rush and 💨 up.....what a treasure these musicians are!
So sad, what a talent. I was never a Rush fan, my brother asked if I wanted to see them with him in Buffalo, I said no, but I'd take the excuse to hang out with him for the night. I left a fan, Neal was the show for me, absolutely fantastic.
Don't know how I missed being a fan of him (and the group). I was very into music back then and can remember hearing the name of the band and that they were very good but I don't think I ever really listened to any of their music until what was posted (above). I guess I'll have to start searching for some of their stuff.
Nice gesture by CBC using the Rush song Limelight playing out for commercial.
I remember listening to their first album, over and over again. Geddy Lee’s voice surrounded by so much sound coming out of the three of them with the amazing percussion by Neil Peart.
David Lettermen once had a week of drummers. I think Neil Peart was on the last night for good reason, as you should always save the best for last.
Such a tragedy for the music world. Nice touch during NFL games to hear it on breaks and in the stadiums.
I saw Rush on March 16, 1979 in Nashville. Still have the ticket stub. Molly Hatchet was the warm up band.
My favorite drummer of all time. Saw them live on their Counterparts tour in the spring of 94 (I think). Just incredible. He could do things with a drum kit and play music most people couldn't even imagine. Just an amazing talent. RIP
