Decided to forego the tradition turkey dinner this year when my wife and I realized, after 25 years of being together, that neither of us really like turkey that much. We had ten people for dinner, all with different tastes and diets, so I made two styles of chicken (garlic and Indian), baked salmon, and smoked a beef roast, which I butterflied and rolled with mushrooms, onion, and spinach. For sides, we did spinach salad, wild/brown rice pilaf, roast potatoes and brussel sprouts (or as I call them, "Little green balls from Hell -- but my wife likes them). I may have made my last turkey, even though it would have been much easier.
