WTB: Paderson Velocity Green LD shaft

Looking for the Paderson Velocity Green LD30+ shaft. AKA VMT 87O LD30+.

i thought maybe the guys that were club builders might have access to these and be able to get me one at dealer cost.

do you need the LD version for a particular reason? I’m seeing the regular version of that shaft on golfworks site (46”) but not the LD version.

He's also selling some cheaply priced heads. Which is not something I need in the winter. (but, that may not stop me 😅 )

Golfworks doesn’t carry it anymore. I was looking there too and one of the reviews asked about it. Golfworks mentioned a special order but that is over $200.

Sellingers site I was looking at already Rex, they have the best deal at $199.

Reason I want the LD version is I would like to play it at 48” and put it in a Ping G400max 9 degree head.

So Rex, what do you think on this for 48”...

Get the LD version and have to cut it to length
Get the normal Version, same D30+ stiffness and play it uncut to get to 48”.

I’ve played the regular length version of this shaft. My honest opinion it’s a great shaft but I’d think at your swing speed you’d overpower the stiff + flex

Typhoon Like colej says, I'm not sure the 30+ is the right flex for you. It is the S flex, but CPMs out at 245, which I've always considered to be a mid R(240-250). Recommended SS is only 92-100 for this shaft.

Don't know a lot about these shafts, except for what I see on the LD shows. They do bend like a whip, so I assume they do play fairly soft. They do have a very high torque value also, which I can't figure out compared to the HOF shafts with much lower torque.

Normally, with the LD shaft vs. the standard, you'd be able to tip the LD as much as you'd like, but not with these. They are butt trim only, another reason to go with a stiffer flex, imo. (Even though I do realize you most likely have a very smooth transition.) You'd be trimming the butt a couple inches, so that might jump the stiffness up a little, as it should. The LD and the standard both have the same high torque and mid bend point. It reads as though they are exactly the same shaft, except one is 2" longer. If it were me, I'd rather go with the standard shaft and bump up to the next flex. Uncut would be around 48", depending on the head/adapter.

You must be getting the hang of this "I gotta try something new", with this not working routine you now have! 😁

A good person to deal with there is Justin Forsythe. He has a lot of heads and shafts. New or mint. I've bought from him and got a helluva deal. Don't let his location scare you off, Priority is fast from there(Hawaii).

Or... does the non LD playing uncut end up to soft compared to cutting down an LD... both at d30+. If it would play softer uncut then the non LD at D40 would make sense?

When I look at the stiffness specs on the Paderson site the d30 is stiff and the d30+ is a bit stiffer, like a “ tour stiff “. Problem is the next stiffness up is d40 and that is too stiff. The d30+ baseline is 100 mph which is a bit low but the d40 is 115 which is ok if I’m swinging well. I wish there was a 110 baseline. I’ll post a link to the chart.

I saw the same torque values and weight was only more on the LD by a few grams due to the added 2” length. And yeah, this not working gives me too much time to think...

Typhoon I've always been of the thought that any shaft cut, at either end, gets stiffer. These shafts have firm butt/tips, softer middle, so not sure how much it would affect it with the trimming.

Looks like a similar shaft with lower torque and stiffer tip, as I read the specs. It's never made sense to me that a shaft could have a high launch, but low spin, with a firmer tip, as GD states. I don't have the SS to be able to find out, I guess. 😀

Some of the Graphite Design charts like I see of the Proseries golf website contradict the actual description of the shaft. The IZ is medium low spin. Perfect for me, never balloons. Very smooth with the softer midsection. I’m not into a stiff butt unless it’s the ladies.

if the LD are using the Velocity I would assume the tip is maybe called soft by their standards.

i might call Paderson this week and ask their thoughts. When I bought the HOF BlackDiamond and Express for my M2 I emailed Robert regarding flex and he had me go with stiff. Of course I haven’t used them all year because I went to the Ping head.

I emailed Paderson with the vitals of my swing/tempo etc... they actually put some thought into the response which was nice to see.

They recommended the d30+ in the standard model without butt cutting. I copied the email below...

For length’s say 47.00” or shorter, we’d recommend the D30+ and for longer builds the LD30+ Although based off your head speed you’d most likely benefit with the standard D30+
