I don't understand why these guys make a habit of complaining about the places where they play. The tee boxes they play from are immaculate, their fairways are stimped faster than some of the greens we putt on throughout the season. They don't have to dig a ball out of an unraked footprint in a bunker that hardly has any sand in it to begin with, and they've got no fewer than 50 people looking for their golf balls when they hit wayward tee shots.
And Bubba, of all people, hits the ball 350 yards, yet is complaining because the architect was forced to make changes to the course to account for guys hitting it 30 yards longer than they used to 20 years ago.
I like Bubba, I like Phil. Hell, I like just about all of those guys I watch play on tv. But damn - find something legit to bitch about. If you don't like the layout - tell your sponsors, they'll work something out, don't play there. And if the sponsors don't work something out - go play anyway and just be thankful that you're not stuck behind a desk 60 hours a week, making $30k/year, and wishing you could get a day off to go play golf!
