Good thread albeit indicative of how stubborn we can get - even more so as we get older. I'm 61 years young.
Well, I "cheated". Somehow I contracted cancer and that was diagnosed early spring of 2017. Six months of chemo really cut into my golf. I might have played 4 rounds that season (typically averaging around 50). But, because of the chemo I lost 40 pounds. Most all of that came a well-deserved beer belly. Other life circumstances and priorities may have had be playing 12 rounds last year? I've played 7 rounds this year. Prior to the weight loss I had lost a full club of distance on my irons. And, things we're slowly moving to worse. After the weight loss - and I'm still nowhere close to "in shape" but, my weight no longer has me on the defensive line, I've moved back to 'linebacker'. But, I got that yardage loss back because I can now better turn my fat stomach toward the target a little quicker (you know, like we're supposed to do?). There's little compensation for Father Time and Outta Shape. And, if you tend toward procrastination you're really screwed. Equipment didn't ever make us better before and it's just a delusion now. Unless you're a "ho".
