I just find it ironic that after getting slammed for the no-call last year that went against who? The Saints... the league decided to institute the review process to make sure that it didn't happen again going forward. And, of course, another situation came, and it did happen again, and oh by the way - it happened again to the Saints.
You literally can't make this stuff up. LOL
We can argue all day whether it was or wasn't OPI. I mean, I think it's fairly obvious Rudolph pushed off to create separation, and per the letter of the rule it's not allowed. But the elephant in the room is Senior VP of Officiating, Al Riveron. "We've been consistent in calling this all season." That might be the biggest f-ing joke of the season. Even the players and coaches themselves no longer know what is or isn't pass interference. They even say so, using those exact words. They have no idea. So consistency?! LMAO.
I couldn't care less about who won or lost that game. I had no betting or rooting interest. What I don't get is how it was handled. I mean, if it took 5 minutes to pause the game and thoroughly review it, and then they said, "There was contact by both players and none of it resulted in a foul," I'd still roll my eyes, but at least there would've been due process to make that determination. They never even freakin reviewed that play. The minute it happened, I'm guessing Riveron called an official reviewer at the game and said, "We're not dealing with this, game over."
That's my argument more than anything. There was no due diligence whatsoever, there was no review. And I'm willing to lay a nice chunk of money on the league rescinding the review process next season, because all it has done is reinforced just how incompetent and culpable the league VP's of officiating are.
