I began as a Steelers fan since 1980, however my interest in the NFL has waned over the last 8 years or so, as my interest in Rugby has waxed.

I honestly believe Football should do away with helmets and hard shelled pads, going to scrum caps and hex-cell pads. The game would become quicker, tackles would quickly become more in line with the rules, fans would be able to see the faces of the players, identifying with them more, and emotional altercations like these would be more in line with hockey fights.
I doubt it will happen though.

It sure looks to me like Mason Rudolph's action are key to the escalation of the incident.
I was giving NFL a chance this year.
It is such a disappointment to have to research to find positive stories coming out of the NFL.

Yep, he was at fault too. The tackle by Garrett might have been over the top, but Rudolph's response was a temper tantrum. Glad to hear he's being fined.

I like Wentz. But I don't like him at $144 million, not with some of the wounded pigeons he threw tonight. And for the life of me... dude is listed at 6 feet and 5 inches tall, yet has more batted/deflected passes than just about any quarterback in the league.

As I said to you earlier, what concerns me most is that he becomes complacent because of the situation in Philly being what it is... underutilized because of poor play calling and an ineffective system from one Doug Pederson, becoming just another so-so QB akin to Kirk Cousins when he was a Redskin. He wouldn't be the first promising QB to go in the tank after signing a big contract with an average team.

I can like the guy and still be objective. He's not lived up to the hype thus far.

What concerns me is similar; his skills being underutilized all the while his coach throws, throws, throws to what weapons/personnel? Jordan Mathews joins the team, just this week, and starts and on the field for 62 snaps. I'm ascribing to the Frank Reich theory - that, he was a major and positive influence on Wentz and the Eagles offense. I don' want to watch another lousy narrative like what happened with McNabb - where for the majority of his career he too did not have adequate weapons - second tier at best.

If anyone else watched the Chiefs v Chargers Monday night, what did you think of the field conditions? I had commitments this morning and played golf all afternoon so I didn't get a chance to listen to any local sports radio to get the inside scoop.

This is the same piece of shit surface that resulted in another scheduled NFL game being relocated back to LA last year because of the surface...should have never been played on it last night either. Tyrek Hill goes out with a hamstring problem early in the game and my first thought was he slipped on the turf and stretched the hammie.
