I posted this on FGI as well, but I think the larger social media sites like Facebook have hurt the smaller more specific sites like FGI. Brian Manzella's site has been dead for awhile as he is more on Facebook these days. FGI was my favorite golf forum mainly because of it's smallness. Is was more cliquish / clannish when I joined ~ 2004 especially regarding component vs. OEM's. But being retired it was a morning / daily ritual for me.
It's ironic that the guy who started FGI then sold it, now should benefit from it's demise after starting this site. De'ja'vu all over again. It'll be interesting to see if this site survives. This place seems to be on life support also as far as activity goes. Maybe with FGI shutting down we'll see more activity here. Up till now this site has relied on a very limited amount of thread starters. You need more than a couple of people starting threads to initiate interest and keep the place moving along.
