Let us all agree that every team has its share of hoodlums in their fanbase, shall we? Yes, it is very unfortunate that some dickturd fans can't appreciate the bigger picture because they're unfamiliar with the term "gratitude." Those people exist in all walks of life, some of which aren't even remotely interested in sports. Oh well. I'm not going to lose sleep over something I can't change. And to discard the sports media's shitweaseling influence in creating the shit show to begin with cannot be overlooked.
I feel bad for the young fella. But something tells me he's gonna be okay in life after football.
As it relates to the Colts? Who knows. Perhaps acquiring Jacoby Brissett will prove to be a good decision, for both himself and the team going forward. He's in the last season of his rookie contract (I think???) and if that's correct, he has every incentive to go out and perform. He has a good O-line protecting him, and the coaching staff will work the offense around his strengths. He will not be Andrew Luck, but if given a chance he might prove to be a reliable starter who can finish an entire season more than once without being injured.
Yet the burden for guys put in the situation Brissett finds himself in is always how they fair the first 3-4 games at the start of the season. Their first two games are on the road against the Chargers and the Titans, difficult games for a young starter. Then they face the Chiefs on the road in week 5, so it may play out that they lose three of their first five games.
The fans would be well served to extend some patience early on, despite also understanding that they seldom are when their team loses their two opening games. Give the kid a chance. He may prove to be a bust, or perhaps he'll be a very talented leader in the locker room that inspires his teammates. But it's always been a game of "next man up" and now he's the next man up.
