I’ve had both a fear and a fascination with spiders my whole life. We have brown recluse spiders in our neck of the woods. My wife was bitten on the leg by one years ago and the eruption occurred on her abdomen, not her leg, nasty infection that took awhile to heal. My dad has been bitten twice in his old age, once on his buttock and once on his peepee. He was proud of the latter one, said it made him swell up like it hasn’t in years. He had to visit a hyperbaric chamber for that one. I once had a fella come to my race shop to visit, and he noticed I had several of those large black and yellow garden spiders nesting on the side of my shop. He scooped one of the larger ones up in the palm of his hand and gave our small entourage a quick lesson on those arachnids, talking about how they were one of the most non-aggressive spiders. He proceeded to outstretch his hand and offer to let anyone else hold it and everybody, including myself, took a quick step back. Nope.......
