I agree....I'm thinking of building myself another hybrid. I have my choice of Value Golf (mostly Hireko), Monark, Diamond Tour Golf, and Golfworks. I'm leaning towards the Hireko Acer XV. Has anybody hit this head???
Pros/Cons???

Pros/Cons???

My current favorite hybrids are the Titleist 816H1. They are very cheap on Ebay. I have tried most component hybrids over the years and never had much luck with any of them. After watching two of my buds kill their 816's I snagged several of these in various lofts and I have been very happy with them.

KZG Zo blades come to mind as well.

Maybe somebody has some SMT blades kicking around for u. Your lack of mobility will probably help u hit blades better.

Spuzz Never seen them, but my brother had some of the Zevos. All Zevos were cool looking. And played well.

Try this for size.
If the new local rule for a lost or OOB ball is in force. How do you apply it on a par 3 with no fairway?

fnufan I wondered this too. My best guess is to do what they say to do when you haven't even reached the fairway, which is to use a walking path or teeing ground that is mowed to fairway height. I wonder if a drop zone could be used?

If you have the answer, I'm interested.

I see no reason why a DZ (appropriately located) may not be used.
But what is the important consideration?

It's only a par 3 and the penalty for the LR is two strokes. Is it always worth it?

fnufan Well, if it's a 200 yd. hole, no fw, and there is water fronting the green, I'll take the 2 'cause I'll never, ever, hit that green. Now, if there is room off the side of the water, I will tee off towards that area instead of the green.

If it's a 200 yd. island green, well then, I'm DQ'd! Unless I can directly hit the cart/walk path. 😁

fnufan No, I was thinking the same thing. The only way I can see doing it would be on a busy course where you didn't know you were out, and now you are up by the green, and there is some kind of reasonable drop spot. But if I'm going to walk back to a teeing area, you can be sure I'll just re-tee and hit my 3rd.
