Last night I bought an hour of emergency garage door repair. SWMBO backed the Merc into the garage and pushed the "close" button and on the way down, the door came off the rails on the side opposite her car, loud noises and banging ensued and the door finished halfway down with the left upper corner hanging off the rails half way to the floor and the right side stuck in the rails at a 30 degree angle off parallel. Both side tracks bent.
Called a 24 hour repair service. Dude showed up at 8 and was done by 9. He got the panels and wheels back in the tracks, the tracks straightened, and the two cables back in place. He replaced 4 of our runner wheels with ones that had longer shafts. The culprit was a mis-mounted rail bracket that was a tad too close to the cable terminal on the right side bottom AND the opener was programmed to open the door too high, leaving the cable a little loose. $400 and all is well
