Bought a new clothes dryer yesterday. The Maytag we have is 26 years old. Weâve had it 23 years. The appliance repair guy said it may be time for a new one.
Problem we have is our laundry room is small. The Maytag is 27â deep. We didnât want anything deeper because it would stick out more.
Went to Lowes and the only one they had was a 6.2 cubic feet GE that was 26.75â deep. Which is considered medium. Most have over a 7 cubic foot drum and are over 29 inches deep. Itâs made for small spaces. Call it a flat back. So the drum is smaller.
It doesnât have all the bells and whistles as some others, but we didnât care about those like moisture sensor etc..
One thing it does have is it can be vented up to 120 feet. Donât need anywhere near that, but ours vents out thru the roof and the more powerful motor will be nice. Be here on the 15th. The Maytag is loud as hell, but still going. lol
Repair guy said heâs seen some of these old Maytags last 40 years. 26 years ainât too shabby.
