We were in Columbus for my grand-daughter's choir concert last night. So, first thing this morning I headed to
Newark (about 1/2 hour away) to look at their putters. I've had my eye on the PTM model since they came out a year or two ago. Luckily, I got there right after they opened up, so I basically had the place to myself.
I putted with both the heel-shafted double bend model and the center-shaft model. I expected to like the center
shaft, but the heel shafted model out-putted the center shaft by so much it wasn't even a contest! I used the Ping
adjustable fitting club that they had there, and the combination of 36 inch length for my height and 2 degrees flat lie worked out the best. Every putter I've ever owned has sat slightly on the heel, and my miss has been left for all these years, so a little flatter seemed to make sense.
Long story short, I bought the PTM-5 Pak, which is marked down to $99 right now, and includes free assembly. It should be delivered in a few days. Now I'll have all winter to practice with it....!!!
