Visited my local American Golf store for an iron fitting session earlier today - not particularly productive, as the fitter shoehorned me into lightweight graphite shafts as soon as he saw my swingspeed (the one useful thing about the session was being able to see the launch monitor numbers - there's a good reason that I only hit my 7-iron around 130 yards at best, and that's because my clubhead speed with that club is around 70mph!), which meant that most of the clubs that I tried felt far too light. Add in typical weather for Edinburgh in January (and the resulting need to wear multiple layers to hit shots), and it wasn't a particularly productive session.
There was a bit of compensation afterwards, though - had a look around the shop before I left, and saw that they were selling off some demo shafts for £15. I could have picked up more than two, but £30 for a Tensei CK Orange and a Kuro Kage Silver (both 50g regular flex) both fitted with Mizuno driver adapters (now safely removed) seems like a pretty good deal to me...
