Every freaking thing is controversial. Everything.
Had his team lost, the coach would've been fielding questions in the post game about his poor leadership due to the lack of effort on the floor. Since his team won however, he ended up getting hammered about yelling at one of his players because of his noticeable lack of effort.
What an incredibly poor standard we set when we go along with the "thou shalt suffer no consequences" crowd. Or, which happens all too often because of biases and agendas in reporting opinions instead of factual news has been the norm for so long now that people wouldn't know the truth if it slapped them in the face, "only certain people shall suffer consequences." There's no baseline. Everything has become this sensational precedent all unto itself, as though this is the first time the media has ever witnessed someone facing consequences for not showing up ready for work.
We've become soft. We've compromised effort and unity for the sake of not offending someone's fragile sensibilities. Everybody is playing by a different set of rules anymore, nothing is equal.
Maybe it's a heart surgeon getting ready to open you up in the operating room, or a lawyer trying to defend your true innocence in a court of law, or maybe you're a soldier sharing the same foxhole with another soldier with people shooting at you 200 meters away from your position. That's not the time nor place to learn that the person tasked with helping potentially save your life was spared from all means of stress or challenge all throughout his/her life because society considered him/her immune from an occasional ass chewing because they lacked effort and accountability.
The fact that this even made headlines says everything that needs to be said about the sad state of society today, that the "accountable" is being held "accountable" for holding someone "accountable."
