lambo So if Mickelson does what the average family has to do, work through the system without using his money to buy favor, he is a cheap B? But, if he had donated a large amount of money for a new building, sports program, etc. Then he is a OK?
First off no judging, just stating how it is. Mickelson is far from the average family. He makes tens of millions of dollars a year (for years). The system has been corrupt for a long time. What rich people did before this scam and still do was / is donate a large amount of money to the school in some way and their kid skipped to the front of the line.
If Mickelson's daughter had the grades she could apply to Brown like most every other kid would do. What this scam exposed is there's three ways to get in, front door, side door or back door. If you have the money and are willing to part with it you most likely can get your kid in.
For example. If Mickelson went to Brown and said he wants to donate a couple million to the school in some way I'm sure his daughter would get in.
Not to get political, but how do you think a C student got into one of the best business schools in the county? And then his two sons get in the same school. Whatever you want to call it. Rich legacy kids, rich alumni's kids etc..
My point is the wealthy have a leg up whether it be healthcare, legal system, education etc.. Just the way the system is.
