Ok, I'll try and list the issues. I basically live in this car...its my office. 2018 Equinox...the new generation one
Radio:
Get in the car, start it, touch screen stays black and won't come on. Then it comes on by itself after driving for 10 minutes. Does this 25% of the time.
Android Auto keeps saying it's not connected. It'll work fine for a while, then disappears off the screen and says it tells u to connect the usb cable. Everything is connected...so u can't use it for gps on the touch screen because it crashes.
Wifi...so u get a free one month subscription, which is fine. Thing is, it always is on...and some phones will search for wifi automatically. So in my car, the phone keeps trying to connect to the active wifi signal. Only way to turn it off is if u pull the Onstar fuse. Don't want to do that because Onstar will work if u get in a bad car accident. If u pull the fuse...Onstar won't work.
Transmission/engine: acceleration in this 4 banger is decent but he tranny skips all the time. Engine revs and car loses power. You see it on the tach. Also u lose power on lateral acceleration using an on ramp. So far I already had one oil leak they fixed.
Heat...you go out on a cold morning, turn it on, blast the heat, go back out 20 minutes later thinking everything will be warm, toasty and defrosted. Not in this piece of shit, still cold air coming out...the car will only blow heat when your are driving.
Locking system/ fob:
The doors have this silver button u press to unlock the doors. Press the back door and all will unlock. Press the drivers door once and all SHOULD unlock...50/50 chance of that happening. Getting back to the silver button. When we get snow and ice, it get is in the button and won't press, therefore the door won't open. You have to go old school and use the remote.
Here's a good one... Park the car, turn it off, get out and try to unlock the back door with the silver button...can't do it. You have to open the front door again and press the unlock button to unlock the back door...and the fob is in my pocket. You also have to be about 6" from the car for the fob to work. I've had the fob in my golf bag on my shoulder standing next to the car and it won't work. Bag has to be practically rubbing against the car.
Misc...
Some sort of whooshing noise coming from the rear. Most uncomfortable seats ever made. They should have had these things available for the Salem Witch Trials instead of The Rack. I spend a lot of time in it and I never had sciatica until now. Even the passenger seat is so uncomfortable my wife can't sleep. Just sits there and swears. The backseat is like sitting on cardboard. Every time I try to grab the seatbelt to put it on, the buckle in the middle jams between the seat and the pillar...you have to rip on it to dislodge it.
The carpet they use...try vacuuming the thing, I give up, does not pick up hair. The carpet grabs hair and doesn't let go. I wish my scalp held onto hair that good.
The trunk, I have to take out my driver because at its widest point behind the backseat, it's too wide if it's in the bag.
Blind spot...where the "A" pillar comes down where the passenger side mirror is. This Equinox and the last gen one had this. An entire car can hide in that blind spot when pulling out to take a left turn. The blind spot will block seeing a car on your right. I had 2 misses where I pulled out and was directly behind the car I didn't see. Scared the shit out of me. My son almost hit a cop, my wife saw the cop and yelled at Nick to stop. Nick never saw him.
The Good:
It's free
