Been sick with a wicked cold the last few days so stuff swirls in my head. Yesterday I went to Golf n ski warehouse to kill a couple hours while the wife was having more done on her tattoo sleeve.
I hit the g410 irons, g410 crossover, Callaway Apex Cf...all with fairly light shafts. Crossover had a graphite Alta CB, 410 irons had the AWT shaft and the Apex was paired with an xp95. They all felt " ok". My irons have the Modus 105 and I'm used to it. One of the guys I know there was watching me, he leaves and comes back with another iron and says " try this".
Since trying clubs seems to be my hobby I know not to look at what he gave me so I don't form an opinion before I hit it. Couple practice swings, it's heavier...but damn doesn't it feel better right?? I hit a couple with hit, little tighter dispersion but it felt so solid and like I actually had something in my hands...like swinging a sledgehammer vs a hammer. No distance loss either. Couldn't trust the numbers because even though it was a GC2 quad, the guy told me the numbers were off. I said, " no shit". Backspin was stupidly wrong giving me an extra 20 years or so. What he gave was an AP2 with a DG 125 gram shaft. I sort of figured it was an AP2, I just liked the weight of the shaft.
The thing in the back of my mind with my irons has always been "are they too light"...since going ing light I've noticed a little over the top move that's not there with a heavier shaft. Read up a little on the modus 120 and the project X lz 6.0. After seeing some i500 reviews im thinking of trying them again with the LZ.
