It sure was nice to see DJ overcome the demons and finally close the deal in a major championship.
I'm not sure I've ever seen a more dominating performance off the tee in a US Open, and although his putting was so-so at best - it was about as good as I've ever seen him as far as distance control and holing the short ones.
I was also pleased (overall) with the Fox telecast. Azinger, Strange and Faxon weren't awful. I think Faxon talked too much at times, but was pleasantly surprised that he didn't hold back his opinion about the horrendous handling of the rules gaffe.
Pro Tracer with the split-screen was awesome.
On-screen target/yardage windows were nice add-ons.
The 3D hole layout was a good feature.
I thought the coverage of full-swings/half-swings/short-game/putting was evenly balanced.
I enjoyed the contemporary music leading into and out of commercial breaks.
The only real criticism I had was Holly Sonders, aside from the eye-candy aspect, served very little purpose in her role. She seemed fairly aloof most of the time.
I also think that worm-cam wasn't used extensively enough on the putting greens. But that's being nitpicky.
Not a fan of Joe Buck doing golf, but I do like the fact that he wasn't afraid to keep the discussion going about how the USGA mismanaged the rules debacle.
Much improved over last year.
