I use a brown paper large lunch bag to pop mine in the microwave.
I’ll get a measuring cup and fill it till it’s 1/3 cup.
I’ll pour just enough olive oil in to make sure all kernels are coated. I’ll also dash a little seasoned salt and a lot of black pepper into the mixture.
I’ll heat the kernels in a microwave safe coffee cup for 1 minute till the oil is bubbling but nothing is popping yet. I’ll then dump the kernels into the brown paper bag. Fold it shut over 1/2 way down and dog ear the ends to keep it from unfolding.
I’ll set the bag on a small stack of paper knapkins
and place everything in ther microwave. Let it cook for 2:30, pulling it early if popping slows too much.
It comes out not greasy but you can taste the olive oil and the seasoning.
I’ve tried the same thing in a Dutch oven on the stove top. It retains more oil IMO and I worry about our glass cooktop.
