Not a big fan of extended periods extreme heat/humidity in summer , nor extreme cold in winter but love the different seasons including winter. Winters are pretty mild here in Toronto compared to where i grew up and where my brother is 3.5 hrs North so its not an issue.
We get cool/cold for 4 months. Golf season most years runs early April through end of November =8 months, that is more than enough. I still enjoy snowmobiling and ice fishing so glad to get to do that a few times in winter . If i need heat anf golf, its a longish drive or short flght to Florida. ( or a modest flightbto Cuba, Mexico)
The dramatic fluctuations in temps here in winter are probably the worst thing. A week ago we had brutal frigid temps one day then rain 2 days later. this area gets minimal snow as well but we can drive North an hour or two and find tons to enjoy all the outdoor pleasures and activities of winter
