Par 4, 11th hole last night in my weekly scramble; toughest hole on the course. We had 160 yards into the pin, so I pulled a 7 iron. I knew as soon as I hit it that it would be good, but I was pleasantly surprised when I found the ball in the hole for the eagle.
I was hitting my approach shots close all night, as I had a couple of other holes where we had tap in birdies. Ended up -8 for the nine hole scramble; 6 birdies, 2 pars and the eagle.
Side note: #11 is the bane of my existence. Lake on the left, trees and mounds and thick rough on the right, with a sand trap that runs across the fairway, forcing you to hit a drive that is not only straight, but ends up short of the trap. There is a small sliver of fairway just right of the trap that you can hit it to, but it's next to impossible to do. Par on this hole is a great score, and birdies are so rare as to be cause for celebration. But holing one from the fairway on the approach is a once in a lifetime feat that I will remember for the rest of my life.
