Some people like a university. Maybe they went there. Maybe their friends or family members went there. Maybe their dad was a big fan and they wore that school's swag off and on all their lives.
Are you saying that people who love a school and like football shouldn't be allowed to watch their team play a bowl game? Just because the bowl game doesn't have national title implications? Really?
Football is entertainment. Bottom line is it doesn't really matter who wins ANY of the bowl games, and that includes the 3 games in the CFP. It doesn't matter. It's for FUN. It's for ENTERTAINMENT.
So, if somebody ENJOYS watching a game, regardless of whether it's a meaningless game or not, it has filled the measure of its creation. It has entertained somebody. That's its raison d'etre. It has no other purpose.
People are going to watch what they find entertaining or what they are interested in. Who cares? Heck, people watch Dancing with the Stars! Why would they do that? Because they LIKE it. It doesn't matter that I can't stand it. There are people out there that like it. Similarly, there are people out there that like watching "their team" play "their bowl game," even though it has a silly name and has no meaningful outcome.
