professor Your only problem here is the extent to which members here have limited perspectives
I play golf with guys who are very much like on this forum. We talk politics and current events. I don't want to say they're dumb, but they do have limited perspectives.
And they do have a lot of white nationalism in their limited perspectives as well. I think there's always been a percentage of the population that is politically nuts (think John Birch Society of 50 plus years ago). Trump just brought a lot of them out of the woodwork so to speak.
We've had this conversation before, but William F. Buckley Jr. would not recognize the current conservative wing of the Republican party. He kicked out the howl at the moon John Birch Society back then. Today the modern day version of the nutty John Birch Society is in charge of the Republican party.
Info Wars is just the evolution of the John Birch Society. And we have a president who believes the crap that comes out of the crazy right wing echo chamber. I'll say it again. This is what we get with a limited perspective / civically ignorant citizenry.
Democracy is not guaranteed. We have to work at it. Yet so many seem to willingly throw it away for an ignorant authoritarian daddy figure.
