I've mostly ho'ed drivers the last couple of years, with the occasional foray into strong 3 woods and hybrids. I swore off buying drivers about three weeks ago, then had two horrific rounds off the tee with some non-gamers as I retired my gamer for the season. So I won a 12* K15 off the Bay which I tried yesterday (direct from the post office to the range) and I'm waiting for a square Bang Mellow Yellow to arrive. My brother-in-law went looking on the rack in the garage and found an ancient square Acer Mantara, onto which he had slapped about 18" of lead tape about 3-4 years ago. It has one of those old Titanium shafts in it, a telephone pole. But with all that tape, it wasn't bad, and was flying as far as the K15 and straighter (though in the Ping's defense, the grip was slick and too small for me, the shaft too soft). So I ordered a square T7 460 from Monark -- the one with removable weights. I'm hoping the weights are the same as the ones that were in the TM R7 heads and I'll weight it up and see how it goes. I have a couple of non-titanium telephone poles around. But as the snow falls here this afternoon, I think I'm done for the year ho-ing. Might try to get out on the course if the weather cooperates, and we'll hit the range once a week, but no more ho-ing. I swear.
