See it in every tennis match when the ball clips the net and dribbles over for a point. There are other examples, like the bank three in basketball, bloop hit in baseball, etc. Although you don't see apologies, fans, teams, players tend to celebrate "it" in the sports where being cocky is more acceptable vs. apologize, which in reality it is more a reaction (being embarrassed) to getting a cheap point, hit, etc. vs. actually being sorry, as they want to accomplish stats/wins, etc. based upon skill not "luck".
