Typhoon Also you have to remember, his fairways o my thaw for about 6 days a year, so they are plenty hard. I kid, I kid.
There is a serious difference between really well built courses and ones that were built because somebody had the land to do it. I play on the latter far more often. I was getting exactly zero run in the fairway last week when I played. Sometimes if even get a hop backwards. I wasn’t using my own clubs so there was more spin than usual, but it’s RARE to get 10 yards of run here, unless the course is fried or you hit the cart path. Some of the better courses you can get roll once in a while, but because of our shitty soil composition, grass tends to be left a bit longer to avoid burnouts.
I’m going to play in Arizona someday, just so I can find out what roll looks like lol. I have played with a college player from AZ who couldn’t figure out how to golf here because he was used to being 30 yards longer and always thinking it would roll to here or there. I was jealous of that thought. I did take some real enjoyment in being competitive with a “scratch” golfer hahaha.
