Speaking of bagels....
Unfortunately I had to attend a funeral two weeks ago, my dear brother-in-law's wife passed away at the age of 60. She would've turned 61 today, as today was her birthday. Great lady, great mom, great wife. She was the first person to welcome me into the family after my wife and I eloped back in 89 (still in the Army at the time) and flew up to meet her family. I'll never forget Karen's first words to me. "Scott, you're part of a great family here. Don't feel like an outsider."
RIP, Karen. And happy birthday in heaven....
Anyway... we get up there the morning of the funeral. We're there early to visit and pay our respects to my BIL and his two kids, a few hours prior to the funeral.
And I had the absolute best bagel I'd ever eaten in my life. It was so good, I only added a dab of butter to it.
New York bakeries know how to make real bagels. And I like bagels. Usually Thomas or Pepperidge Farms. But this bakery bagel from NY... there was no comparing it. It was soooo good.
