PA-PLAYA My wife makes PB&J for when we go to the beach. She always puts butter on the side of the bread that gets the jam; that way the bread doesn't get soggy.
Now, as to the original question.
White or sourdough bread.
I prefer chunky peanut butter by a ton.
I prefer natural peanut butter. Current fave? Cape May Peanut Butter Company with butterscotch chips. It's natural, but whipped, so the oil doesn't separate. It's just a bit sweet from the butterscotch. It's so good, it's freaking crazy.
I prefer jam to jelly, but I usually go non-traditional. Something like peach, or apricot, or blueberry, or blackberry, or mixed berry. NEVER GRAPE.
Why would anybody take off the crust?
