As the news cycle moves away from the hurricane, please keep them in your thoughts as they rebuild their lives. I have been reading a lot here not posting much since the FGI closed up.
I lost basically everything, our whole street was flooded and we are waiting to start the process of repair. My family is safe but our house is not. Just keep us in our thoughts. My whole hoing is gone. But, just a chance to start hoing again.

I read a statistic and it was alarming how few people had flood insurance.....so many wiped out.

It's never easy, but know that people are praying for your community in the recovery and rebuilding process. It will take time, for sure.

Sorry to hear about the impact this has had on your family, friends, and community Bellview. I have close friends in Houston that were swamped a year ago returning home to find fish swimming around on the first floor of their house. It has been a long journey back for them but they perservered and just now are getting resettled in the completely remodeled home.

Our daughter-in-law was born and raised in NC... in the Teachey/Wallace area. Her home town was completely flooded. Her sister and brother-in-law lost everything. Her dad refused to leave his home, survived, but lots of damage. Our son is currently stationed in SE Kentucky. The DIL works for the local school district. She asked for donations, thinking she would get a car full of goods and drive them down "home". The outpouring from the community now has her needing to rent a cargo van. Locals have already donated money for rental of the van and for fuel.

This is the America that gets forgotten amongst the daily news cycles. Good people doing what they can to help other good people. We wish you the best in recovering from such a disaster. The cleanup after a flood is a daunting task. Do not envy you and the work ahead.

Sorry to hear about the devastation to lives, houses and businesses. It’s probably small compared to what’s needed, but I know people from around the country are bringing food, clothes and supplies and hope it continues as long as needed. Our prayers are with you and your families.
