I went up to Williamsburg a number of years ago to watch her compete in the U.S. Amateur during the match play portion. She was matched up against a complete unknown. The unknown's name was Yani Tseng.
Yani put a beat-down on Michelle that day. I thought it was a fluke.
Turns out Yani was pretty good. Within about 3 years of that match she was the world's number one player. Of course, we know what happened after that, too. Golf is a fickle game, to be sure.
