DC300 Rickochet While I agree, I’m tempted to pursue further action against the county themselves, this is absolutely unacceptable practice to threaten citizens and force them to fear abandonment of their license to drive if they don’t follow the money grab guidelines.

I don’t disagree with your actions either, but I do disagree with the process that forces you into them.

They didn't force me into anything. They gave me an option I chose to accept. And to get out of the charges against me for $160 is less than I would have paid had I just been issued a traffic citation. And to piss the county attorney off contesting this I don't think is a good idea should I have another infraction. I posted earlier about a bud who got a $189 fine for rolling through a stop sign. I pay $160 and get criminal littering and and careless driving dismissed and several of you think I got screwed. Do the math. I live in a small town and I give a lot of credit to my 72 year old attorney who is well respected and knows everyone. 😉

Rickochet I’m not faulting your choice at all. My issue is you were in the situation to start. The awful decision of the officer and the shitty “choice” you had after that is my issue. This is actually nothing to do with you, just the irritation I have with the government as it stands. It inspires me more each day to go get my law degree and start fighting for what is RIGHT and not allowing this shit to happen.

My only interaction with the legal system was helping a poor illiterate neighbor fight a lawsuit from a bully neighbor. The value of a respected lawyer of long standing and the interactions they can have was brought home , & even when on oposing sides, was decisive. BTW, our guy won & for at least 4x less $ than the plaintiff paid to loose.

I agree 100%. I have never had a citation or accident in my life at age 68. I have a "Retired Veteran" license plate I thought might help should I ever get pulled over. I went to the DA office after this happened hoping to resolve this before my court date and nobody would talk to me. My attorney later explained the KY Law is "Court of Record" or something like that. After a citation like mine is posted it has to go to court. Perhaps the court has some input back to the police who clog up the system with cases like mine.

Rickochet I disagree with so much of the shot I see going on, the law should not be seeking to find fault, rather protecting the rights of the citizens. Garbage like this is NOT protecting anyone.

Another note, I find the fact the 14th district of Congress in Ny is being run for and likely given to a 28 year old former bar tender, as complete lunacy. I feel the need to have education and fact behind me to validate my contention, which is my own short coming. I can’t stomach what this county is becoming and I feel my calling is being presented to me. I’m going to have to get into politics on a professional level.
