I considered not making this post after the disaster that was the back nine, but upon further thought what went down with the Top Flite Tour (2003) irons today is worth noting. I put them in the bag for this morning's round without having hit them at all. No range balls before the round, either. A good drive on the first hole left me 126 to the pin according to my laser, so the pitching wedge I grabbed would be the first swing with the Top Flite Tours. The shot felt solid and was on a good line but OMG did that ball go high. Highest trajectory I can recall with a PW. Drove up to find it was 2.5 feet from the pin. Made the birdie. The first swing ever with this set was money!

The honeymoon lasted more than one hole. On hole #5 I hit a 9-iron from a mediocre lie in the rough right on line to 8 feet short. Made the birdie putt. On the par 3 8th (133 to a front pin) I hit the 9-iron to 5 feet and made my 3rd birdie of the nine, tying a personal best. Both those 9-irons went very high as well.

Yeah, I fell apart on the back 9 but that start was pretty fun. The TFTs have pretty good feel to them, too. I have to agree completely with rsvman that the super game improvemen features combined with low offset is great with these clubs!

You have just re-proven what we all know - when your swing is on, irons are irons.........but it's still fun to ho around.

Exactly. Good swings are good swings. The most intriguing thing was the higher trajectory, even higher than the G15s.

Now THAT'S high. PING G irons can make it rain. My G400 UW is almost vertical.

Here we go again. Maybe I'll pull mine out soon.
