Upgraded from a Cobra driver to a Titleist 975d when it first came out. Played it for a few years, was very pleased with the performance. Then upgraded to the 975j, which I found really wasn't any different (performance-wise) from the prior model.
I don't think Titleist drivers today are overly forgiving compared to PING, Callaway, etc. Maybe it's just me. I demo'd one of their newest models a few seasons back, back when I was playing a lot and was swinging well. Just seemed that I had to have the focus of a Navy Seal to find the sweet spot on that driver. After two weeks - I gave up. I took it back to the pro shop and went back to my 2015 Callaway GBB.
But I do have to admit that I've always found their clubs, be it driver, wood, hybrid, iron, wedges - very classic looking and appealing to my eye.
