Yep. A little sunscreen never hurts. Apply once during the round, then reapply after 9 holes. It helps keep one's ears intact. 😉
I apply 50 spf cream prior to teeing off, then after 9 holes I reapply using 50 spf sunscreen spray. Yeah, it's a nuisance early on, but when your buddies start complaining about having to have cancerous skin lesions removed - it's suddenly not so much of a nuisance.
I've got a scar on my right arm that was from removal of skin cancer due to years of exposure. I've lost three dear friends over the past several years due to late-stage melanoma that wasn't caught early, much of which was contributed to excess sun exposure.
Take the necessary precautions. Preventative measures now will alleviate issues 10 years from now. And if you don't have a dermatologist - might be a good time to find one. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
