DonM after researching all the options in the market to death, there is nothing more complete than the Pinhawks. The Sterlings are an awful looking, sounding and overly offset design. The Cobra gapping is odd at best and though it might work for my type of swing, most see bunching at the top end of the set, which they still haven’t fixed. The others are all so far out of the price point that it doesn’t matter anyway. The Pinhawks aren’t “hot”, but they have a great base design, look pretty good, don’t have obnoxious offset and are reasonably priced. Could they be tweaked to lower the CG in the lower number irons and maybe raise it in the higher lofts for “optimal” performance? Maybe, but to be honest, the simplicity of the design is one of its best features. You can mess with it if you want, but marketing is the biggest reason behind all the “advances” in most of these designs.
