I had one of those days yesterday. I had been putting off a project of adding a new outdoor hose spigot to the back of our house but got it done yesterday. Everything went ok with that for a change but it took 5 hours and it was very hot and humid so when done I was one tired geezer.
We were expecting a new couch to be delivered for our downstairs family room on Friday after waiting two weeks for it to arrice. I was across town and get a call from the furniture delivery service asking me if I would take delivery that day. Sure, and I asked when they would be there. They said they were loading up and would be there in 45 mins. I dash home, prep everything to get the sofa in and wait. I wait and wait. I called several times and get voicemail. 3 hrs later they show up which screwed up our dinner plans. The furniture dealer uses a hired delivery service. I joked to my wife that it would probably be two guys and a beat up truck. I was wrong. It was 3 guys and a beat up pickup with an open trailer. They brought in an end table first that I happened to notice a screw on leg missing. They luckily found it in the truck. Ok, now the sofa. I have an unusual walkout basement arrangement and the sofa has to go in through 2 30" doors. Then out double exterior doors, make a 90 turn and up three steps. I just barely got the old 90" sofa out two weeks ago. At the store I triple measured the new couch floor model and it was 28" without the screw on feet and it was 90" long. Now the "movers" start carrying in the new sofa. They didn't have a clue how to lift, turn or how to get it in. I had to tell them how plus do half of the lifting. And to make it even more pleasant they all smelled like goats. We finally get in inside. The proceed to take it through the two 30" doors and it won't go. I got my tape measure and the new couch is 32" tall without the feet. So I have to remove two doors and rip of the door casings to get it through. When we get it in I discover it is 96" long not the 91" as the floor model had. One hole in the fabric and the square screw on legs are round and scratched up and the sofa has not been pre-drilled for screw on legs. Oh, I forgot. The fabric was a sage green not the chocolate we ordered.
I am on my way to the furniture store. If I don't post any more today my wife might be having trouble getting me bailed out. ๐ก
