I could not hit a fairway wood to save my ass. So, I took a 2 pronged approach, one, I watched every stinking fairway wood lesson on Youtube, my takeaway- hit down on the ball, don't try to sweep it or in any way help it up, place it in the middle of your stance, not much forward at all, that's helping it up. Second part of the approach was to build 2 fairway woods, a 9 wood Synchron II at 28, and 7 wood Synchron II at 24. I found I could hit the 9 immediately up in the air, and gave me the stones to try the 7, harder to get up, needed to hit down on it more, and also to swing faster at it, evidently the higher swing speed translates into more ball height. Just used the 7 for the first time yesterday, had some tops and skulls, resulting in worm burners, but for the most part it was really good. Once I get more confidence with the 7, think I'll build a 5W.
