And during those "48 years" shit's changed. Women are becoming the breadwinners. Case in point - I left the workplace back in 2000 to raise my kids. My USMA educated wife landed a great job when we got out of the military in '91 and 8 years later we made the decision for me to be a stay-home dad as her career progressed and she accepted a handsome promotion. We felt sending the kids to daycare and having someone else raise them, and the expenses incurred, wasn't worth it financially.
Not because she's a woman, but because she busts her f-ing ass for her company. Goes into work early, stays late, oversees/supports roughly 1k employees in the corporation, works 65+ hours per week, travels out of town 25+ weeks per year on average, gone for several days. It's part of her job, her support role in the company that is global. In exchange - I go out and clean off the snow from her car during winter.... I also cook, clean, and get to manage my golf schedule as I want. Kids are grown. We're looking at her retirement in 3 years. She'll be 54 years old, spending 31 years with the same corporation. We are blessed!
Find a woman like that - you'll be more than happy to cook, clean, vacuum.
Not all women are satisfied staying home and playing the happy housewife role.
