One of my friends who plays quite a bit used it consistently for a year. The information was awesome, and shocked a lot of people. Not him - he's one of the rare birds who actually knows how far he hits the ball, and he's an unassuming scratch player. Nothing flashy, but never hits a poor chip. Doesn't make a ton of birdies, rarely makes bogey. Others at the club thought he hit it a lot further than he actually did, and he was quick to share the info with anyone.
The distance charts for each club was awesome. Bell curves, but for him, pretty tall curves. He did eventually tire of it and quit using it.
It seems like something that would be great for an amateur to use for ~30 rounds, then pass it off to the next person. For the average cat that overestimates their iron and driver distances by 10-20%, this could save some strokes simply by providing convincing information that they do in fact need to hit a club or two extra, every time. No lessons required.
