Sitting here this morning having my coffee, heard a different noise that I wasn't used to hearing. Glanced out my front window, and that's when it happened!!!!!!! They were aerating the greens!!! Didn't even notify me either. Bastages!!!!!!

Call Jackie Chiles - you've got a case!
I went in for a massage last week, and I swear that lady was trying to aerate me!
I'm going back this week to be sure.

Normally that would be called acupuncture. However in this thread it could be assault with deadly fingers with the intent to maim or do permanent bodily harm.
Sounds like you'll need to keep yourself busy with the driver shootout for the next two weeks or so. I'd be tempted to go wave some money at the person on the machine and see if they'd do my lawn on their lunch hour.
johnnydoom They couldn't do my lawn in a lunch hour. More like 5-6 hours.

Nailed it.
What's next, a Darwin Award nomination?
meagain Whoops. Didn't know how long the process takes, or how big your lawn might be. I have never seen the aeration process in action.
Lawn is over an acre. Used to be about 2 acres when my sons played baseball. Set up our own field complete with backstop. Own 10 acres total.
Just took a look. They didn't even fill the holes with sand. That means everything is normal.

Just took a picture a minute ago. 2 days later and no sand! Must be nice to be able to play on a real course.
That's not aeration. Those holes look regulation size. That's just a putting green with lots of holes for you to practice with.
Update. They are sanding the green at this very moment.
I can't believe they would wait to put sand on the greens after aerating them. It's usually done immediately after and raked in. On our course it's raked in using an old metal mat that was made for wiping mud off of your shoes. It's drug behind a golf cart and does a great job filling the holes.
Ever heard of leaving the holes open? It happens. Generally after a deep tine to though, but it happens here and there.
They are now filled. Said the threat of rain while sanding made them wait. Also made larger holes than they usually do because they didn't get a chance to do it last fall because of wet conditions.
Just tried putting on it. Rooster tail of sand flying up. Really have to slam it.
Due to money issues the local course hasn't aerated in several years. I contemplated buying aerator shoes and walking over them overnight.
Do they have an aerator? If they do, only real cost is sand, and sand is cheap.
