darpar
We've got a track here locally (about 45 minutes away) where there have been several known incidents of golfers rolling golf carts simply riding in the middle of the fairways. The undulations just in the fairways themselves are quite severe.
It really is a stupid layout, yet has this impressive stately clubhouse. I'm guessing their non-golf functions and weddings and such keep the place afloat. The layout is the most stupidest layout I've ever played. Hit the center of a 60-yard fairway and the ball ends up bounding into the deep rough in typical dry conditions.
Last time I played there, I hit a great drive, conditions were soft after a night of rain. The ball landed and rolled three feet dead-center of the fairway, saving me from playing from deep rough. I was faced with a lie where the ball was 2 feet above my feet. From the center of the fairway. Only 145 yards from the green.
If that happened for only one hole, oh well. But this was pretty much common on a majority of the par4's and par5's. The only level lie you experienced was the ball sitting on the tee on the tee box. Everything else is just crazy. How they've managed to stay afloat over the years - I have no idea, other than what I mentioned about their beautiful clubhouse.
I'm not playing in the clubhouse! LOL
No thanks!
