Pro wrestling was a staple at our house growing up. We knew it was fake, but it was the best entertainment on the tube at the time.
Many weekend afternoons were spent watching Wahoo McDaniel, Ricky Steamboat, Jay Youngblood, Ric Flair, Jimmy “super fly” Snuka, Randy “macho man” Savage, etc. Then came the “Four Horsemen”, followed by Sting and the Road Warriors.
It was basically the men’s version of daytime soaps, except once per week on the weekend.
Brings back lots of memories.
