rsvman BOM is a great head, but it's old and they can't possibly be selling many of them at those prices!
Rickochet rsvman BOM is a great head, I also had a BB450, Bangster, FU2 and Mellow Yellow. All nice heads. Fit and finish was always top notch.
Rickochet I just went to their website and noticed that you cannot order directly from their website. They also only list 8 distributors in the US. I'll bet Almo could shed some light on this but I don't think he has posted here in a long time.
garyt1957 Rickochet I thought I bought one for $79 a few years ago. Wanted 16* for my Dad. No way I'd pay $139.
DC300 The prices are nuts. Itβs old technology in a dying market, they are probably trying to squeeze out whatever they can.
ValueGolf We sell a ton of 2 particular Bang Products: SF Fairway, and Super BOM. The rest is dead enough that we stopped carrying, but those 2 products really sell.
ValueGolf Let me get out my sales numbers, lol We wouldn't carry anything that doesn't sell, it's a recipe for disaster. The Super BOM sells well especially overseas.
letthebigdogshunt ValueGolf Just out of curiosity what makes the Super BOM so super? That head, the BOM was one of the best Almo sold, at least for me. I still have one plus the BOM 3 & 5 woods.
Spuzz ValueGolf How's the Single Length Returns Dept doing? Bryson is barely beating the lone Amateur this week. π
Spuzz letthebigdogshunt the BOM was one of the best Almo sold Still my fav of all of them. I have a 12* and my son has a 10.5. The Mellow Yellow is second but it's more fashion than function for me. I'd take a 12 or 14 degree off someone"s hands if they had one in decent shape. A close third is the Bangenstein., just because.
letthebigdogshunt A couple years ago Steve put up a couple Bang heads as prizes in the Masters contest that I somehow won. I got a BOM with the American flag on it that he had made Special for President Bush. I guess it did not turn out the way he wanted (Almo) so it went back in his stash hidden in his office. He was notorious for losing things in that office. π
Spuzz Spuzz Mellow Yellow is second but it's more fashion than function for me. I'd take a 12 or 14 degree off someone's hands if they had one in decent shape. Same for a similarly lofted Bangenstein. Still valid, just because, and in light of recent circumstances. π
meagain Had a Bangster for a while. Beautiful head, but played it a few times in the rain, and the ball would take off real nice then drop straight down. Must have been that face when it got wet, no spin.
Rickochet meagain Had a Bangster for a while. Beautiful head, but played it a few times in the rain, and the ball would take off real nice then drop straight down. Must have been that face when it got wet, no spin. I had an FU2 but it never did that. Maybe because of the higher loft. I did have that issue with the SF fairway woods and Mellow Yellow fairway heads. In wet rough or wet grass the ball came off the face like a knuckle ball.
