garyt1957 My first ever component head some 20 years ago was the Big bang 450. They still sell that for $139 head only.
I bought a new BB 450 from DTG last year for $49 so they might be "priced" at $149 but I wonder how many they sell at that price. Too bad. I always liked the quality of Bang heads and they had lots of loft options.
I thought I bought one for $79 a few years ago. Wanted 16* for my Dad. No way I'd pay $139.
Pretty hard to understand hanging on to this old inventory instead of blowing it out and bringing in new product. Still trying to sell square drivers? They where dead 6 months after they came out. Get rid of them for 10 bucks a head( if you can) or sell them for scrap metal and move on.
BOM is a great head, but it's old and they can't possibly be selling many of them at those prices!
rsvman BOM is a great head,
I also had a BB450, Bangster, FU2 and Mellow Yellow. All nice heads. Fit and finish was always top notch.
Do they count on selling to people who have no idea how old the design is?
I just went to their website and noticed that you cannot order directly from their website. They also only list 8 distributors in the US. I'll bet Almo could shed some light on this but I don't think he has posted here in a long time.
Still $149 for the BOM and $199 for the Super Bom!
The prices are nuts. It’s old technology in a dying market, they are probably trying to squeeze out whatever they can.
We sell a ton of 2 particular Bang Products: SF Fairway, and Super BOM. The rest is dead enough that we stopped carrying, but those 2 products really sell.
What's a ton? Especially for the Super BOM.
Let me get out my sales numbers, lol
We wouldn't carry anything that doesn't sell, it's a recipe for disaster. The Super BOM sells well especially overseas.
Just out of curiosity what makes the Super BOM so super? That head, the BOM was one of the best Almo sold, at least for me. I still have one plus the BOM 3 & 5 woods.
Hey, you offered "tons", I didn't ask. "Tons" could be 10 a year to you.
How's the Single Length Returns Dept doing?
Bryson is barely beating the lone Amateur this week.
letthebigdogshunt the BOM was one of the best Almo sold
Still my fav of all of them. I have a 12* and my son has a 10.5.
The Mellow Yellow is second but it's more fashion than function for me.
I'd take a 12 or 14 degree off someone"s hands if they had one in decent shape.
A close third is the Bangenstein., just because.
A couple years ago Steve put up a couple Bang heads as prizes in the Masters contest that I somehow won. I got a BOM with the American flag on it that he had made Special for President Bush. I guess it did not turn out the way he wanted (Almo) so it went back in his stash hidden in his office. He was notorious for losing things in that office. 😇
Here's our last shipment with more coming in June, you tell me. 😉
Had a Bangster for a while. Beautiful head, but played it a few times in the rain, and the ball would take off real nice then drop straight down. Must have been that face when it got wet, no spin.

I had an FU2 but it never did that. Maybe because of the higher loft. I did have that issue with the SF fairway woods and Mellow Yellow fairway heads. In wet rough or wet grass the ball came off the face like a knuckle ball.
meagain That was a very low spin head, like the SMT Encore.
Mirror face is my guess but no scientific proofs.
never been a fan nevertheless
