Well, the app is back up and running. Here is the email explaining the snafu...
"Dear GHIN Members & Mobile App Users,
The GHIN Mobile app is finally repaired and available for download from Apple and Android stores. Depending on your phone's settings, you will need to update or reinstall your existing GHIN app for the changes to take effect.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience and how long it took to complete the repair.
What happened? - The GHIN app has become so popular that once golfers from the northern states started posting scores this spring, the underlying database wa s overloaded. The app and the database required repairs to reduce the congestion.
To maintain the stability of the app, the USGA has removed the option for filtering based on "scores-past - 12 months" and "scores - 2016". These options will hopefully be restored at a future date.
The good news - The Florida State Golf Association relies on the USGA for their technology which is used nationwide. Currently, the USGA is spending millions of dollars to improve their technology, including new apps, that will help all golfers. We look forward to some great innovation in the future.
On behalf of the USGA and the FSGA, please accept our apology for the inconvenience. We hope you have a bunch of great scores to post!
Thank you for your support of the Florida State Golf Association."
