Rickochet it’s not that I don’t like him, he’s not great. He’s good, he’s going to be15-40 at most places he plays, out of the 60 qualifiers at the cut. To me, that’s middle of the pack.
I don’t have anything against Bubba, but without the nickname and a pink driver, he’s the random guy who showed up and won a major and fell off into the abiss. He’s a GREAT. Example of a very good pro, but for all the 2 putt birdies he has, one would think he should have won just a few more tournaments than Woods has in one year over his entire career. I mean Jordan Spieth went pro in 2012, PGA in 2013, 11 wins, 3 majors.
In 15 years, Bubba has done less. He’s what one would call a Journeyman in any other profession. He’s good, but. In no way do I regard him as elite and especially when you consider he has had all the opportunities to gain strokes on the field. He’s a super talent, but he’s not a super star. He’s middle of the pack every damn week. If you want to conclude that 150th is middle of the pack, fine. I look at 15-40 as middle of the REAL pack as in those who are actually making the cut. These are mid tier guys, ya know, those that win less than once a year, but is always capable of winning if they get hot. That’s Bubba.
He kind of reminds me of Eddie Murray https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/m/murraed02.shtml
20 years of steady yields great numbers, never actually great, but the sum of the numbers is impressive.
